Severe Thunderstorm - Madeira Beach, Florida
7-12-19

A strong severe thunderstorm approaches Madeira Beach, FL on July 12, 2019. Watch as beachgoers quickly scrambled to pack up their things as strong winds approaching 65mph, frequent cloud to ground lightning, and torrential rain approached. This storm had some very impressive structure as you can see the ominous dark clouds with the approaching shelf cloud. During this time a Hurricane Barry was in the Gulf of Mexico approaching the Louisiana Coast. Deep tropical moisture, and intense surface heating, and low-level convergence, along with favorable conditions aloft for exhaust allowed the development of linear storms out over the Gulf.
